New Year 2008! Taitong
We went to a city on the southeastern end of Taiwan, Taitong, for a long weekend. The east coast has about 1 million people and the west coast (where we live) has about 20 million. The contrast of space, pollution, and feel was amazing. Hsinchu is a working city. It holds Tawian's largest semi-conductor (the thingy that can get really hot so that your computer, i-pod, cell phone can process) parks. Taitong is an agriculture city with a little bit of tourism, mainly for the Ocean Hwy that connects to Hualien and the hot springs (which are heavenly). It is a must go place. The kindness of Taiwan's people and the beauty reminded us how fortunate we are to be here. Happy New Year!!
