Although this picture only captures the beauty of Savanna Portage State Park we also saw some wildlife. We saw swimming beavers, heard some really loud frogs, and felt crawling ticks.
Conor cooked some really yummy yams hobo style.
This park is most famous for the great continental devide, the spot were rain water either heads towards the Atlantic Ocean or to the Gulf of Mexico.

Foot In The Door 4
So every 10 years the Minneapolis Institute of Arts opens a gallery for Minnesota artists to exhibit one piece. There were around 4,500 contibutions this decade.
The rooms are filled with art...Check 'em out I believe that the exhibit runs through June.
I submitted, Found Blue Glove on Pole, from my "Is This Yours?" series

Happy Chinese New Years! Yummy hot pot with good friends. The stuffed tofu pockets were my favorite.
Getting the fish ready for hot pot. We caught these fish this winter from Red Lake!

Red Lake
Red Lake is a lake about 5 hour drive north from Minneapolis. I caught a 20 in. Walleye late one night off a friend's line.
Our house was smaller this year, but we kept good use of all the holes.
Here is the spread of all the fish we caught as a group of 8. Check out the huge Northern Pike in back!

Apples!
Rows, and rows of apples!
Here is how to do it.
We fit as many apples as possible into the bag! And I ate as many as apples as my stomach could hold. Yum.

Minnesota State Fair
An all time favorite and must have at the agriculture building, Honey Sunflower Ice cream.
A new food for the Fair and us, tex-mex sausage gravy with biscuits at the My Sauage Sister and Me booth in the Food Bldg.
Jonathan getting licked by a goat that wants to be a cat.
Pork chop on a stick, we wanted apple sauce in a cup to go with it.

Creamcycle
Went for a Creamcylce on Sunday and hit up 6 places. Pumphouse was an overall favorite for flavors. But here are some highlights of points of ice cream interest. Beautiful bikes and summer gardens. (Creama)
Overall favorite of Berry and Cary: Peach Sorbet and Corn ice cream at Crema. They are open don't let the construction fool you.
Overall most interesting: Chocolate Coyote and Orange and Basil Sorbet at Sebastion Joe's.
Grand Old Creamery crossed the river! Birthday Cake, Coconut, and Strawberry.

Skipper Lake in the BWCA. Mirrored, shawdowed, textured photo-goodness.
Calm lake+fire+friends+smores=camping perfection
Here our slanting rock campsite that ended into the dark green depths of Skipper Lake.
